The writers, artists, poets must fight back injustice, Nationalism, and hatred wherever you see it.  Indeed, the writing on the Statue of Liberty will make any emigrants cry.

Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses, yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore,
Send these, the homeless, tempest tost to me,

It is unfortunate that the Trump administration lost sight of it and attacking the religious freedom offered by the constitution through the executive order banning seven countries from entering USA.  It was Thrilling to watch the SAG award ceremony and the powerful speech of the artist,   Harbour, who plays Chief Jim Hopper on the Netflix series, spoke for the cast as they took the stage to accept their award for best ensemble in a drama series.

"This award from you, who take your craft seriously and earnestly believe, like me, that great acting can change the world is a call to arms from our fellow craftsmen and women to go deeper and, through our art, to battle against fear, self-centeredness and exclusivity of our predominantly narcissistic culture," he said. "And through our craft, cultivate a more empathetic and understanding society by revealing intimate truths that serve as a forceful reminder to folks that when they feel broken and afraid and tired they are not alone."

Kudos to the poet.  

Liberty is not the privilege of few, it is a Birth right of all.

See the true warrior poet, restless bubbling like a hot spring, unrest like the waters in the wind. Very appropriate & timely in the times of political turmoil. Poet took his pen to fight the injustice. We see a real lover of humanity. Instead of justifying injustice under the false pretension of patriotism & privileges and religious rights for a selective few; the icon of Liberty is spreading the light of freedom. Liberty is freedom under Law and so is Democracy. Any and every time Democracy is limited or claimed as a privilege for a 'selected few'; it is dead and the wild beast of Oligarchy charges out with thousand horns. Sad to say that is what we see in all democratic countries, even in the great ones like America & India. Religious fundamentalists came out in sheep skins to fool the rest of the people. They want to convert 'the statue of Liberty' to a bell tower to toll the death of Democracy.

Democracy is or may not be the best form of government. The rule of the Philosopher king may be the best form of government, but it is still a utopia. So let us guard our freedom, liberty, love for humanity, welfare for all. We are not owners of any piece of land. We are just exploiters. Poverty, war, hunger,sickness....in any part of the world is ours, own it, work hard to eliminate them. Let work towards the glorious days of the birth of a World Government.
